Join us for this unforgettable webinar as we explore the historical wine producing region of Attiki. Special guest, winemaker Stamatis Mylonas, will be joining us from his winery in Greece to discuss the region and the wines he produces from the local varieties of Savatiano, Malagousia, and Malagousia. This will also be a great opportunity to understand and rediscover the production of Retsina.
Attica has been Athens’ vineyard for thousands of years. Unfortunately there was a period of time when the Athens market demanded cheap retsina and the local vintners became focused on that product. Today, a new generation of winemakers is making outstanding wines by re-purposing their old vine Savatiano vineyards. And they are demonstrating to a growing international audience that those old vines can make superlative white wines.
