Description
The 2015 Healy Rosé is a salmon pink color — definitely trending more on the orange side of the spectrum than pink. We purposely chose cooler vineyard sites and picked the fruit early to preserve natural acid and keep the alcohol level low. Half of the fruit went straight into press and the other half was gently crushed and allowed to macerate for about five hours to build complexity. We very slowly fermented these wines separately at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks and aged them for five months on the lees before evaluation and blending trials. The result is a bright, fresh rosé with honey dew, apricot and seductive fresh strawberry aromas. A perfectly balanced, lively and texturally intriguing wine with an acidic mouthfeel and an extremely long finish. The goal was to produce a thought provoking rosé with depth that is easily enjoyable now. I think that we exceeded our goal and I am excited about this new addition to the Signature Series!
